A Connected Generation

Our generation is one of the most "connected" generations of all time. Whether it be through phones, through the internet, or through social media, we have access to one another in so many ways. Ironically, our generation is also the generation that seems the farthest from each other as individuals. Everyone's life seems so perfect online but in reality, we all struggle with things that will never make it to the home page. Now don't get me wrong, it is totally normal to want to post the highlights of our lives...the problem is, sometimes we get so caught up in the idea of what our lives should be rather than what they already are. We were not created to be perfect but we were made to be loved by our Perfect and Almighty God! You see, our friends and even our families may see the peppy, joyful, and beautiful highlights of our lives, but God sees the inner depths of the worst nights we experience. He sees when our eyes are blood-shot red from crying. He sees when we haven't slept all night because of the horrible thoughts that run through our minds. He sees when we feel hopeless and are tempted to give up and wander. But guess what!? In everything, especially in our weakness, God never lets go of us. We are forever in His perfect and strong arms, even when we doubt, even when we wander, and even when we rebel.  When we feel unaccepted, unloved, and uninvited, He whispers in our ear "I still love you! I still want you! You are always accepted into my arms! You are mine and I purposefully chose you!" If we are truly His, He will NEVER EVER leave us "Be strong and courageous, do not be afraid or tremble at them, for the LORD your God is the one who goes with you. He will not fail you or forsake you." (Duetronomy 31:6).  You see, we become so busy covering our imperfections, we forget that in our imperfections, His Strength is made perfect. "And He said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you for power is perfected in weakness.' Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me." (2 Corinthians 12:9 NASB). His strength is made perfect, and because He is perfect, we have joy, we have peace, and WE ARE FREE in Him and because of Him! We are so connected to everything and everyone. Why then are we so disconnected from the reality of life? If we just stop and look up for just a second we will realize that reality isn't actually as bad as our brain makes it seem. There are so many more blessings in this life than we give attention to. I am not saying that life is easy, because in many cases it's not. I may not understand what you are going through, you may not understand what I'm going through, and even the closest people we know may not understand but God does! He felt every single inch of our pain when He died for us on that oh-so-torturous cross and HE STILL LOVES US! HE STILL CHOSE US! "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him. He who believes in Him is not judged; he who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God." (John :16-18NASB).

We continuously hide our despair and our grief as if everything is perfect, when in reality, the people that we pass on the street are going through the same things we struggle with! No life is perfect, but our God was, is, and forever will be!!! May His name be praised forever!

Have a blessed day beautiful people!
